


The Administrative Core’s role is to serve the UAB CFAR’s mission to support local/UAB investigators in the conduct of multidisciplinary, cutting-edge research in the prevention, pathogenesis, therapeutics, clinical care, and psychosocial manifestations of HIV and related disorders in the United States and around the world.
The Core provides HIV/AIDS relevant scientific leadership, strategic planning, fiscal management, scientific communication and community outreach services. The Administrative Core is the central organizational entity for the UAB CFAR and functions to assure that the Center operates efficiently and effectively to fulfill its mission.
The specific aims of the Administrative Core are to:
1. Provide dynamic leadership to the Birmingham HIV/AIDS research community
2. Supply sound fiscal management and governance
3. Furnish administrative support
4. Be an effective conduit of HIV/AIDS communication
